Thanksgiving 2008

I'm on a roll today (still procrastinating at work-ha!). Last week, I went home to visit my family for Thanksgiving. I arrived in the big city of Amarillo on Wednesday evening and was picked up at the airport by my youngest brother, Brent and his fiance, K'Lynne.
They usually pick me up and I love them very much. We then headed to Fritch to see Mom, Dad, and JR - oh and Molly!
On Thanksgiving day we all headed to Wheeler to spend the day at my aunt Karen and uncle Tommy's ranch. It was a good day and was nice seeing all of my cousins and all of the little ones. They are all awesome people! All of the cousins (the group has gotten so much bigger over the years!):
My Mom and Aunts:
My cousin Dustin and his neice Brylea:
My Cousin Stephanie (Sissy) before we got covered in dirt!
And last but not least.....Big Balled Bud!
Big Balled Bud wants to wish you all a Merry Christmas!!!

Houston Trip 11/15-11/17

Well, I started this Blog over a month ago and have not updated it in quite some time! I'm procrastinating at work - so I need to blog about my Houston trip! Three weeks ago I went to Houston to see my long, lost friend - Karen, her daughter - Emma, and Madonna for a 2nd time in 1 week ;-) We had such a great time. It was so good to catch up with Karen after 3 long years! The first evening we met her parents and Emma at Benihana for dinner. Emma is so cute and so grown up - I was amazed! Here is our picture:

Earlier that evening, Karen and I killed some time at a pet store. We played with the cutest dog - a puggle ( cross b/w a pug and a beagle). It was so cute - but I did not have $800 to buy it!!

I'm so glad I got to spend some time with Karen and catch up with her! We had such a great time at the Madonna concert. I'm glad I saw it twice - it was an amzing show. Even though the girl is not the best singer - she can do it live and dance like no other! Enjoy the pics:

Karen and I had dinner and drinks at a sports bar across from Minute Maid park before the show (after we heard Madonna warming up!)

Karen and I in front of the stage before the show started - we were seated on the floor.Madonna's StageMadonna!

Love ya Karen and Emma!

Vegas Hangover!

Well, today is Monday and I somehow have made it to work! Emily and I landed in Dallas around midnight last night - it was good to get home after spending most of the day in the Vegas Airport. However, our trip was definately worth it!
We had so much fun! Friday night - we ate dinner, walked up and down the strip, playing some black jack and slots, and had a few cocktails. We were in bed by 1am - so it was an early night by Vegas standards! The next morning we got up early and headed for the Buffet! The casino was packed at 8:30 am!!! Some people looked as though they had not even been to bed yet!! ha! I decided to play a slot outside of the buffet and tripled my money (yes I made a whole $3.66) on a penny slot! I was so proud! This was after I lost $40 in black jack the night before....ha-ha! That afternoon, we met up with our friend, Alli (aka..Alli ass grabbin' adams, Alli Kat, or Sue Ellen Ewing) and some of her pals. We had a few cocktails and played 3 card poker and some more black jack. I laid at the pool for a while that afternoon and then started getting ready for the concert!! For dinner, Emily and I sat in a sports bar at our hotel and watched the first half of the Tech game (Go Raiders).
Madonna - The concert was amazing!! She came up out of the stage on a throne dressed in black with a top hat, cane, and long curly blonde hair...saying welcome to my candy shop! She played for 2 hours and it was so much fun - she sang a lot more hits than she usually does. It was not quite the production like the "confessions" tour - but it was much more intimate and fun!! I won't give away any more details - since I know some of you have not seen it yet - and it is best to be surprised when watching it!
That is pretty much my trip - Ill post pictures once I get home tonight!!!

The Day Before "Sticky and Sweet"

I am so not a person that would normally keep a blog - but thought it might be fun!

Well, today I am at work waiting and anticipating for my trip to Vegas! This will be my first time to go to Vegas and I am going with my dear friend, Emily (aka Pumpkin). We are going to see Madonna in her "Sticky and Sweet" Tour at the MGM Grand tomorrow night! I am soo excited. We have floor seats fairly close to the catwalk.

This will be my 2nd time to see Madonna. My first time through the wilderness was in June 2006. Damon, Emily, Alli, and I saw her at MSG in her "Confessions" tour - which was so awesome.

Next weekend, I will get to reunite with another dear friend, Karen! We are also going to see Madonna in Houston at Minute Maid Park! We have not seen each other since she came up with her daughter, Emma, to stay with me during Hurricane Rita back in 2005. I am looking forward to it! Hopefully, I don't gamble my life savings away this weekend........

Love,

C
